About Shopé

With his internationally crafted sound, Toronto-based Shopé is bringing a unique energy to the global musicscape. The 2019 CBC Searchlight winner was originally born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, but later immigrated with his family to Toronto at the age of 11. No stranger to the classic immigrant struggle, the Nigerian-Canadian's personal and musical narratives weave a tale of poverty, determination, love, and faith. Shopé’s unique sound skillfully blends elements of Nigerian Afrobeats, with North American Hip Hop/R&B. The product, aptly called Afrofusion, is an infection mix of equal parts rhythm & melody that is honest, and vulnerable, yet bold and confident. As he masterfully bridges western & African cultures, Shopé continues to win global fans, to the tune of 6M+ streams and 100,000 social media followers. In 2019, he was selected to participate in the prestigious Allan Slaight JUNO Masterclass. In the same year, he also completed a coveted weeklong artist-in-residency program at the National Music Centre in Studio Bell. Further still, in 2021, Shopé's music was placed as the official soundtrack to Canadian Olympic Sprinter, Andre De Grasse, at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Shopé’s performance credits span premier festivals like CBC Music Festival, SXSW, CMW, showcasing alongside acts like; Tory Lanez, Jazz Cartier, Tyler Shaw, and Lecrae, just to name a few. His robust touring schedule has also taken him across Canada, USA, Europe and Africa. Beyond the music, Shopé's commitment to growth and human flouring evidences as a passion for education. All of his unique contributions to art & education set Shopé apart as a “one-to-watch” international artist, inspiring those in the African diaspora and beyond.

About S.O

Following the success of his last album Augustine’s Legacy, which was dedicated to his late father and his first child and has now accumulated over 17 million streams on Spotify alone, with support from Essence, Rapzilla, Forbes, GUAP and OkayAfrica, among others, Texas-based international rap artist S.O. is going back to his African roots with his brand new project titled LARRY GINNI CRESCENT. Tracing his footsteps back to his hometown in Nigeria, where he was born and raised, the new project is nostalgically named after the street in Lagos, Nigeria that S.O. lived on as a child called Larry Ginni Crescent.
Speaking about the inspiration behind his new project, S.O. says, “this is a project that is connected to my African roots – Larry Ginni Crescent is the name of the street I lived on as a child back in Lagos. As a proud Nigerian, I have always loved my heritage, from the food and the language to the music and the culture, and Afrobeats is one of the branches on the Nigerian tree that’s rooted in the diaspora."

With over 40 million streams, Billboard Chart success and sold-out shows across America, Europe and Africa, S.O. is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
